Infrastructure Development : Women Leading the Way
on 15th September, 2021
ICE(I) is dedicating this year’s Engineers’ Day to “Gender and Development in Infrastructure : Women Leading the Way” celebrating the accomplishments of women engineers and raising awareness of the profession so girls can take an interest at a young age. Despite the disproportionate number of women in engineering professions, it’s a great time for women to get involved in it. Our world is going through a monumental shift, and people are opening up and willing to have those tough conversations about diversity. Companies are more receptive to improvements, and women engineers and technologists are feeling hopeful that things are getting better.
As the world rebuilds economies and societies anew in the wake of the pandemic, we see an opportunity to advance economic empowerment for women and girls they need to term their ideas and economic potential into power to advance in the economy. The empowerment of women is the biggest measure of progress and social upliftment of any nation. India is a country where ‘Nari Tu Narayani’ has been an integral part of the ethos and culture.
This Engineers’ Day through learnings will be an opportunity to explore and experience the existing framework and to adapt to the changing environment to give the women engineers wings to fly in the sky aimed at benefitting women engineer from India.
